Litigation and Legal Analytics Dashboard

Challenge Summary

Legal analytics is the process of drawing insights from large volumes of data. Legal analytics tools are intended to help lawyers make data-driven decisions on which to build their legal strategies. That could mean things like knowing the probability of a specific motion outcome, reveal hidden connections between entities, uncover valuable links to citing cases, how seemingly unrelated cases connect or how much settlement awards could be. These assistive tools save valuable time of senior attorneys and help interpret results through speedy research which in turn lead to significant cost savings.

Challenge Scenario

The legal structure in and of itself is labour and timeintensive owing to its largely traditional ways of operations and laden with inherent biases, supporting per-partnership profits. Nevertheless, reliance on data for legal procedures remains the sole cornerstone in these processes. Availability of critical data helps in carrying out informed decision making at various instances of a legal procedure, from relevant information for case building to predicting outcomes based on a jury, past cases of similar nature etc. Data analysis is essential to drive rapid, fact-based decision making in litigation in the current era of competition and pace. Existing system is called Manupatra that contains the past history and track record of cases & judges.
