Process Enhancement of dross to Zinc Sulphate

Challenge Summary

Zinc Oxide (dross) is a key compound produced by recycling of zinc compound based products and found as slag from molten metal. The zinc oxide compound is to be converted to Zinc Sulphate which has high market value and finds multiple applications in food supplements, fertilisers, electrolyte for zinc plating and preservative for leather. There are major challenges in the conversion of zinc oxide to zinc sulphate. Innovative technologies and methods to obtain maximised output of zinc sulphate from zinc oxide is required.
