Challenge Summary
Lack of monitoring & timely diagnosis system for occupational diseases such as Big 5 respiratory disorders in miners
Challenge Scenario
Miners are at risk of developing lung disease due to the exposure of airborne respirable dust. This dust includes
extra-fine particles from the mines that people can inhale into their lungs, leading to various lung complications
and increasing the risk of developing certain diseases such as Silicosis, Silico tuberculosis, etc.
The medical treatments available currently cannot treat most of these diseases, so preventing their occurrence or detecting them at an early stage becomes critical. Hence there is a need for a solution that can monitor and screen early symptoms or diagnose respiratory diseases among the miners.
